Look at the links below to see what your trip could be.
While your down here in Fishing Paradise you can expect great scenic views, fish of a variety of species and memories to last a lifetime.
After you have called Captain Jimbo to arrange your date(s) and made the down payment for your trip. Captain Jimbo will call you to confirm that he received down payment and date(s). If you booked a 3/4 or full day trip you will be the only charter for the day unless we had to move the schedule around for bad weather days for other clients. Otherwise the day is yours and trips sometimes go longer than expected when we are having great time. He will then call you the night before the trip to verify pickup point and start time and if you would like to go and catch bait with the Captain to get an earlier start, its great for kids they all love to see how its done.
The evening before phone call we will discuss the weather and wind. I will show you the tide patterns for the day so you know what you can expect do to environmental impacts. I will let you know what has been biting and what is a high or low percentage catch. With these factors in mind we can alter our start time, launch and or pickup site accordingly. We may have to brave the weather or postpone to a better day if you're in town long enough. I will not go out on the water if the risk factors are to great and that put your life and health at risk. While we are out, you will have a choice of bringing your own food and snacks or we can stop at one of the local on the water restaurants at the end of the trip or split in the middle of our trip.
We will discuss your fishing skills and gear if your using your own. What you would like to catch on this trip (as we all know its called fishing for a reason). Conditions in weather, tides & current, wind direction, moon phases all play into account of what , where, and when the best fishing will occur. If you want to use your own fishing gear or use mine (PENN / SHIMANO products) that is fine. I prefer to use cut bait and live bait fishing techniques, since this is what will produce more and larger fish than using lures. Lure fishing is fun and exciting but produces less than bait methods. If you want to use lures then bring them or I can recommend a couple lures that are working at the time and where you can purchase them. I don't provide lures as I would go broke replacing lures lost by anglers. If your a fly fisherman with your own gear, I only take one or two anglers fishing.
The preferred places I meet customers are at Matlacha Park in Matlacha (free parking). Pineland Marina on Pine Island (pay to park), Monroe canal at Low Key Tiki in St James on Pine Island (free parking). The parking lot dock next to the Green Flash on Captiva Island. By using these four pickup points we will be within minutes of where we will be fishing that day. Or, if your staying on Useppa or Cabbage Key I will pick you up at a designated place by boat weather permitting.
